Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 1, 2026

Tron Buildings LLC ("Tron Buildings," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our products — Tron Agent (macOS edge controller) and Tron Ops (iOS maintenance platform) — and when you visit our website at tronbuildings.com (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, company name, phone number, and billing information when you register for Tron Ops or purchase Tron Agent.
  • Work Order & Maintenance Data: Data entered into Tron Ops including work orders, asset records, maintenance schedules, team member assignments, and vendor information.
  • Communications: Information provided when you contact us for support, request a demo, or communicate with us via email at ben@tronbuildings.com.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Building Automation Data: Tron Agent collects data from connected building systems (BACnet, Modbus, Haystack) including sensor readings, equipment status, valve positions, and system performance metrics. This data is processed and stored locally on the Mac Mini running Tron Agent and does not leave your premises unless you explicitly configure cloud sync.
  • Usage Analytics: We may collect anonymized usage data to improve our products, including feature usage frequency, error reports, and performance metrics.
  • Device Information: Hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for licensing and support purposes.

1.3 AI & Local Processing

Tron Agent utilizes local agentic AI for automated integrations (device discovery, point mapping, protocol translation). All AI processing occurs locally on your Mac Mini hardware. Your building data is never transmitted to external AI services. AI models run entirely on-device using Apple Silicon, ensuring your operational data remains private by design.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide & Maintain Services: Operate Tron Agent and Tron Ops, process work orders, manage assets, and deliver real-time building data to authorized users.
  • Licensing & Authentication: Verify active licenses, authenticate users, and manage access permissions.
  • Product Improvement: Analyze anonymized usage patterns to improve product features, performance, and user experience.
  • Customer Support: Respond to your requests, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical assistance.
  • Billing & Payments: Process payments for Tron Agent hardware/software and Tron Ops subscriptions.
  • Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

3. Data Storage & Security

3.1 Local-First Architecture

Tron Agent is designed with a local-first architecture. Building automation data — including sensor readings, equipment controls, and integration configurations — is stored and processed on your on-premises Mac Mini. This data does not transit through our servers unless you opt into cloud access features.

3.2 Cloud Access Layer

For users who enable cloud access (remote monitoring, multi-site management), a minimal Cloud Access Layer is hosted on Vercel and Supabase. This layer transmits only the data necessary for remote connectivity and is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).

3.3 Tron Ops Data

Tron Ops (iOS) stores work order, asset, and user data in our cloud infrastructure (Supabase). This data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to authenticated and authorized users within your organization.

3.4 Security Practices

We take security seriously. Prior to our v1.0 launch, our codebase and network architecture will undergo a professional third-party security audit including penetration testing. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • End-to-end encryption for data in transit
  • Encryption at rest for stored data
  • Role-based access controls
  • Regular security updates and patches
  • Secure authentication protocols

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information or building data. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize sharing, such as granting vendor access to work orders in Tron Ops.
  • Service Providers: With third-party providers who assist in operating our Services (hosting, payment processing), bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to affected users.

5. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access & Portability: You may request a copy of your data stored in Tron Ops at any time.
  • Correction: You may update or correct your account information through Tron Ops or by contacting us.
  • Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data. Building data stored locally on your Tron Agent hardware is always under your physical control.
  • Opt-Out: You may opt out of anonymized analytics collection by contacting us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and Tron Ops data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide Services. Upon account termination, we will delete your data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law. Building data on your local Tron Agent hardware is retained at your discretion and under your physical control.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
